2011 Houston Nutt FCA Golf Tournament
The 2011 Houston Nutt FCA Golf Tournament will be held at the Ole Miss Golf Course which re-opened on Oct. 1, 2008. Many renovation efforts were made including green complexes rebuilt to USGA specifications, fairways sprigged with 419 Bermuda grass, new cart paths, a fleet of 60 new electric golf carts, a state-of-the-art 900 sprinkler head irrigation system capable of pumping out more than 850,000 gallons of water a night, rebuilt sand bunkers and the addition of back tees on several holes, pushing the course to more than 7,000 yards in length. Also, the driving range has been doubled in size.
Ole Miss coaches will be at the tournament including special guest, Houston Nutt, head football coach.
The top four winning teams (two gross score winner and two net score winner) will advance to the State Playoff at Old Waverly in West Point, MS on September 26, 2011. The top four teams from the State Playoff (two gross and two net score winners) will advance to the National Scramble at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on November 18-20, 2011.
